About FunderBase

FunderBase is a curated directory of funding sources for US nonprofits — private foundations, community foundations, corporate foundations, corporate giving programs, and government grants. We verify every listing against public sources before publishing: focus areas, eligibility, and application access paths are checked against official sites, 990 filings, and federal program pages. What we can't confirm stays blank.

How we curate

Listings are researched by hand: we check each listing's official site, confirm what it does and what it costs, and record our sources. Unknown fields stay unknown — we'd rather show a thin-but-true listing than an impressive-but-invented one. Listing owners can claim their listing at any time to keep details accurate.

How we make money

Two ways, both transparent: some outbound links are affiliate links (labeled where they appear), and vendors and agencies can buy featured placements (always labeled "Featured" or "Spotlight"). Neither affects rankings — our best-of lists are computed from listing data, not from who pays us.
